Multiple indications of edges are painted as diminishing lines or arcs emanating from a subject/shape to give the impression that the subject/shape is in motion. Or, lines/strokes project outward from a subject/shape to give the impression of motion. Or, multiple positions in space of a subject/shape are indicated as ghostly after-images.
