Surprising or unlikely materials can be incorporated into paint or glued/taped to the surface of a piece of art. Chunks of material such as plaster, rocks, glass, refuse, etc. can be embedded in wet paint, which acts as a glue for the added material, or some other means of adhering the material can be used, such as tying with string, stapling, nailing, sewing, etc.
